Terms of Service

These terms cover everything Edenfall runs: this website (www.edenfall.net), the forum (forum.edenfall.net), the Edenfall launcher, our games, and their online features such as the mod browser. We call these the Services. By using them you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.

Who we are

Edenfall is an independent game studio. We are not yet a registered company. You can reach us at support@edenfall.net.

Adults only

Our games and much of what members share contain mature and sexual content. You must be at least 18 years old, and of legal age to view such content where you live, to use the Services. Every character in our games is an adult. The Services are not available in the United Kingdom, and you may not use them from anywhere they are not legally allowed.

Your account

One forum account signs you in to the forum, this website and the launcher. Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens on your account. Give accurate information when you sign up, and use one account per person unless staff agree otherwise.

The games and the launcher

Our games are free to download and play through the launcher. We give you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable license to install and play them. You may not sell or redistribute our builds, share access to builds you received as a supporter, or get around the launcher's sign-in or access checks. We can update, change or stop offering any game, build or feature.

Mods

You're welcome to make mods for our games. Mods you upload are reviewed by staff before they go public, and we can decline or remove any mod. Only upload mods you made or have the right to share, and never include malware, hidden code or anything that collects other players' data. Mods made by other members are not made or checked line by line by us, so install them at your own risk. Don't sell mods of our games or charge for access to them without our written permission.

What you post

You keep ownership of what you post, upload or write, including forum posts, profile pictures, banners, mods and wiki edits. By sharing it on the Services you give Edenfall a worldwide, free license to host, store, copy, display and distribute it as needed to run the Services. That license ends when you delete the content, except for copies in backups and anything other members have already quoted or built on.

Don't post content that:

• involves or sexualises anyone under 18, or anyone who looks underage, in any form, including drawings and fiction
• shows real people in sexual content without their consent, or shares anyone's private information
• is illegal, or infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights
• harasses, threatens or targets people, or promotes hatred or violence
• is spam, advertising, or an attempt to cheat, phish or scam other members
• contains malware or tries to break, overload or get around the security of the Services

Staff can edit or remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules or the forum's community rules. We report content involving the sexual exploitation of children to the authorities.

Patreon supporters

Supporters who pledge on Patreon and link their Patreon to their forum account get perks for their tier, such as early or extra builds in the launcher, a supporter group on the forum, and animated profile pictures and banners. Payments are handled entirely by Patreon under Patreon's own terms, and refunds go through Patreon. Perks last while Patreon shows your pledge as active and end when it ends, or straight away if a payment is declined. We can change what each tier includes.

Copyright complaints

If you believe something on the Services infringes your copyright, email support@edenfall.net with a link to the content, proof that you own the work, and your contact details. We will look into it and remove infringing content.

Ending your use

You can stop using the Services at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account at support@edenfall.net. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms or put other members or the Services at risk.

No warranty

The Services, the games and member content are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind. We don't promise they will always be available, error free or right for your purpose. Back up your game saves and files.

Limit of liability

As far as the law allows, Edenfall is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, lost data or lost profits from using the Services, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the last 12 months or 50 US dollars. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we make a significant change we will post it on the forum or on this site before it takes effect. If you keep using the Services after that, the new terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. If a dispute comes up, please contact us first so we can try to sort it out informally.
